Ask an ATF Agent: 3D-Printed Guns

David Chipman was an ATF Special Agent for 25 years. Now he’s taking questions and setting the record straight.

There’s been a lot of news lately about 3D-printed guns. If you have questions, you’re not the only one.

David Chipman  is here to clear up the confusion. He spent 25 years as a Special Agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives – a law enforcement branch of the U.S. Department of Justice. His job was to keep illegal guns off America’s streets, and he’s an expert in firearms and firearms policy. Now that he’s retired from law enforcement, he’s speaking out.

Watch the video above to hear David, senior policy advisor at Giffords, answer real questions we received on social media.

Here’s the bottom line: downloadable, 3D-printed guns are a real threat to public safety. The problem will only grow over time – we need to address this issue before it’s too late.
