As both a law enforcement officer and a person of faith, Leonard Lacey knows that our legislators have a moral and civil obligation to address Virginia’s epidemic of gun violence and is ready to take action. In addition to his 30 years serving the Commonwealth of Virginia as a state police officer, he is also the founder and senior pastor of United Faith Christian Ministry in Stafford County. In both lines of work, Lacey has seen how gun violence destroys families, futures, and communities up close. These instances have shaped his worldview, and he has used his platform within the faith-based community to advocate for peace and to condemn the use of guns for violence. In office, Lacey will work to strengthen background checks on gun sales, fight for needed safe storage laws that reduce unintentional shootings and firearm thefts, and bolster Virginia’s extreme risk law, which has been proven to prevent potential acts of gun violence. Now more than ever, we must elect new champions committed to public safety in races up and down the ballot—starting with Leonard Lacey.
We are proud to endorse Leonard Lacey for the Virginia House of Delegates.
