As a combat veteran, military spouse, father, and educator, Stephen MillerPitts has always put service to others first. Now, he’s continuing to do so by running for the House of Delegates, where he’ll make ending Virginia’s epidemic of gun violence a top priority. For MillerPitts, this issue is personal. Having had close family members who were the victims of gun violence, he knows firsthand the toll such a tragedy can take—and he’s determined to make sure that nobody else in his community feels such pain. In office, MillerPitts will work to fully fund community-led violence intervention programs, ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, hold gun manufacturers accountable, and close loopholes that allow domestic abusers to legally obtain weapons. It is more important now than ever that we restore a gun safety majority in the Virginia House of Delegates this fall—and that starts with electing committed champions in the fight to save lives like Stephen MillerPitts.
