Representative Suzan DelBene is a passionate and pragmatic legislator who is laser focused on helping her constituents get ahead. A core part of this work to support families and communities throughout her district is ending our nation’s epidemic of gun violence, which threatens the lives and livelihoods of so many Washingtonians.

Since she was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 2012, Representative DelBene has worked in a bipartisan way to keep Americans safe from senseless shootings. In office, she’s fought to expand background checks, ban assault weapons, establish federal extreme risk protection orders, regulate dangerous untraceable ghost guns, and limit the availability of dangerous firearm accessories like bump stocks and large-capacity magazines. As a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, she’s also helped secure needed funding for gun violence research and proudly voted to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first major gun safety legislation to be signed into law in nearly 30 years.

In 2022, Representative DelBene was selected by her peers to serve as the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. This role is responsible for supporting House incumbents in their reelection campaigns and overseeing the recruitment of new candidates to run in open seats and to challenge vulnerable Republicans across the country. Having led the charge on numerous important issues in the House for years, we know Representative DelBene has the political acumen necessary to help elect a new generation of gun safety champions. We must retake the House this fall and get back to passing lifesaving gun reform, and we trust that Representative Suzan DelBene will steer our party to victory in November and set the stage for the passage of historic legislation in 2025.
