One Year after Mass Shooting in Half Moon Bay: Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Remembers Victims, Survivors
Washington DC — Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, founder of the gun violence prevention group GIFFORDS, released the following statement honoring the victims and survivors of the mass shooting in Half Moon Bay, California, last year. Seven people were killed and another was injured, just two days after the mass shooting in Monterey Park, California.
Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords:
“I’m thinking of the survivors and victims’ families whose lives changed forever one year ago today. The Half Moon Bay community was left reeling when a gunman took seven lives and injured another person, less than 48 hours after a mass shooting in Monterey Park. Too many communities have experienced the pain and trauma that comes from gun violence, but we can never accept or normalize it. I will always stand with survivors and advocates to honor the lives we’ve lost with action.”
