Jessica Killin has spent her life serving her country and fighting for the people who serve it. A proud fourth generation Coloradan, Army veteran, and devoted mother, Jessica was raised in Colorado Springs by two public school educators who taught her the value of hard work, service, and community. After earning an ROTC scholarship, she served as a captain and paratrooper in the US Army, leading soldiers overseas as a military police officer and supporting peacekeeping missions across Europe. Following her military service, Jessica dedicated her career to advocating for military families and veterans, helping protect them from financial hardship and working to expand access to the benefits they earned through their service. Now, she is running for Congress to bring principled leadership, practical solutions, and an independent voice to Washington DC on behalf of Southern Colorado families.

Growing up surrounded by military families and veterans, Jessica understands that protecting our communities means ensuring people have the support they need before a crisis occurs. She has been a strong advocate for preventing veteran suicide through expanded access to mental health services and evidence-based suicide prevention programs, recognizing the devastating toll that suicide and gun violence can have on military families. Jessica also supports commonsense gun safety measures that respect the rights of responsible gun owners while helping keep firearms out of dangerous hands. If elected, she will work to strengthen background checks, close loopholes that allow dangerous individuals to obtain guns, and provide greater protections for survivors of domestic violence. She also supports proven, bipartisan measures such as safe storage requirements, waiting periods, and extreme risk protection orders that include strong due process protections.

The race in Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District represents a major opportunity to bring new leadership to one of the fastest changing districts in the country. Voters deserve a representative who will put their communities ahead of partisan politics and focus on delivering results for working families, veterans, and the next generation. Jessica Killin has spent her career answering the call to serve, tackling tough challenges, and standing up for those who need a voice.
