Dr. Amish Shah knows how to get results—in the emergency room, he worked tirelessly to save lives and protect the health of everyday Arizonans, and in the legislature he had more bills signed into law than any Arizona Democrat in the last decade. Right now, Arizona families need a champion who will put their safety first amid a wave of mass shootings that have rocked the nation, as well as daily community violence—and as Maricopa County’s next voice in Congress, Dr. Shah will never stop striving to be that champion.

Throughout his career in medicine and politics, Dr. Shah has had to confront the devastation gun violence can cause firsthand. Having treated patients who needed bullets removed from their bodies after being senselessly shot, he is acutely aware of the carnage that weapons of war can inflict on the human body. It’s why he stepped up in Phoenix to introduce legislation that protected healthcare workers who faced daily intimidation for simply doing their jobs from potential acts violence in partnership with the Arizona Nurses Association—and it’s why he’ll continue to champion commonsense gun safety laws on Capitol Hill. In Washington DC, Dr. Shah will be a strong supporter of measures to expand background checks to all gun sales, fund lifesaving community violence intervention programs, and strengthen safe storage requirements that protect children from getting their hands on potentially lethal firearms. 

This fall, Arizonans have the chance to make a national difference by flipping one of the most closely watched races in the country and helping gun safety champions take back control of the US House.
