Dr. Annie Andrews is a pediatrician and mom who has spent her entire career serving South Carolina families and working to create a safer future for the next generation. Now, she’s running for the US Senate because kids and parents across her state are getting swindled by a system designed to work for powerful special interests—like the corporate gun lobby—and not everyday people.

Throughout her career, Dr. Andrews has made tackling America’s epidemic of gun violence a top priority. For her, this issue is deeply personal. Over the years, Dr. Andrews has cared for children who survived shootings and met with too many parents who didn’t get to take their child home from the hospital—and she’s made it clear that those are stories you don’t forget. Like so many in this movement, Dr. Andrews knows we can respect the Second Amendment and still protect our kids, and in the Senate, she’ll be a tireless champion for lifesaving policies like universal background checks, safe storage laws that prevent unintentional shootings and youth suicides, and measures to get weapons of war off of the Palmetto State’s streets. Dr. Andrews is also committed to breaking the cycles of violence being perpetuated in too many of our cities and towns, and she’ll always fight to secure more funding for community violence prevention and mental health programs if elected.
