As part of a military family from Prince William County, Delegate Briana Sewell has always put service to others first. For her, protecting the health and well-being of her neighbors will always be a top priority while serving in office—and since she was first elected, Delegate Sewell has helped her state make incredible strides in the fight to end gun violence. In Richmond, she has been a leader on the issue of public safety and worked tirelessly to uplift the voices of communities impacted the most by gun violence so that their experiences can inform the legislative solutions being debated and passed in the house. Delegate Sewell knows that when we put people first, we can create lasting solutions that will save lives and improve our communities—and she’s just getting started. During the 2023 legislative session, Delegate Sewell served as a co-patron on Delegate Cia Price’s bill directing the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission to study the social, physical, emotional, and economic effects of gun violence on communities across the Commonwealth. In the years to come, we know that Delegate Sewell will not tire in this crucial work until every Virginian can live free from the threat of senseless shootings. But to continue doing so, voters across the 25th district must reelect her this fall. It’s well past time to break the partisan impasse on this issue and start working towards a safer Virginia for all. With gun safety champions like Delegate Briana Sewell in the majority, we can do just that.
We are proud to endorse Briana Sewell for the Virginia House of Delegates.
