Representative Chris Deluzio is a Pittsburgh-area native, an Iraq War veteran, and a voting rights attorney. Throughout his career in the Navy and in law, he’s fought for justice and has always put the needs of his country first. In Congress, he’s continued his service by advocating for measures that will bolster public safety and protect the freedoms so many Americans hold most dear.

Like many veterans, Representative Deluzio used and carried weapons of war during his service—equipping him with a thorough understanding of the immense power of firearms and the need for our legislators to pass commonsense gun safety legislation. In office, Representative Deluzio has been proud to cosponsor numerous important gun safety bills, including a renewed assault weapons ban and legislation that successfully called for the creation of an Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Representative Deluzio has also strongly supported legislation to efforts to extend background checks to all gun sales, to get large-capacity magazines off our streets and out of our schools, and to make sure that dangerous weapons don’t fall into the hands of those seeking to do harm. 

Representative Deluzio is one of the brightest leaders in the new generation of gun safety champions in Congress pushing for lifesaving reforms. This fall, his district will be a bellwether for progress and is likely to be one of the closest in the country, and voters must mobilize like never before to send American hero and Congressman Chris Deluzio back to Washington DC.
