Born and raised in Andover, Dan Koh has dedicated his life to public service and making government deliver for working families. From serving as chief of staff to Boston Mayor Marty Walsh—overseeing one of the safest, most prosperous periods in the city’s history—to holding multiple senior roles in the Biden-Harris White House, Koh has garnered a wealth of experience that has prepared him to make a difference for Massachusetts families as a new member of Congress.
Throughout his career, Koh has helped make real progress behind the scenes in our national fight to end gun violence. While he was particularly proud to work alongside President Biden to get the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first gun safety law signed into law in nearly thirty years, across the finish line, he knows there is still so much more to do to create a better world for the next generation. To that end, Koh looks forward to stepping up in the US House and being a strong champion for commonsense gun safety measures. He believes that Massachusetts’s strong, commonsense gun safety laws can and should serve as a model nationwide and would support the passage of a national assault weapons ban, universal background checks, and a federal red flag law.
As a father of two, Koh knows that we cannot sit idly by as our children grow up in a nation plagued by senseless shootings. In a renewed gun safety majority, he’ll never tire in working to protect the right of every American to go to work, school, or their place of worship and not have to worry about being shot. Now more than ever, we need a new generation of champions to take up the mantle on this issue and we know that with Dan Koh leading the way, a safer future will finally be within reach.
