Congresswoman Emily Randall knows what regular people are going through, and throughout her career, she has built a proven record of delivering results for her community on the issues that matter most to everyday Washingtonians. For Congresswoman Randall, a major part of that work has always been working to end our country’s gun violence epidemic and making sure that families across her district are protected from senseless shootings.
Before coming to Capitol Hill, Representative Randall spent six years representing working to push for commonsense measures at the state level in Olympia. There, she stood alongside young activists, parents, grandparents, teachers, and community members in support of various pieces of lifesaving gun safety legislation, from restricting large-capacity magazines to banning the sale of assault weapons across the Evergreen State. In 2023, Congresswoman Randall also specifically worked arm-in-arm with her colleagues in the legislature to pass a historic number of commonsense gun safety laws, including clarifying Washington’s waiver of firearm rights for suicide prevention, implementing a safety training requirement and 10-day waiting period for gun purchases, and enacting additional protections for domestic violence victims. In Congress, she’s continued to build on that record as a successful gun safety champion by fighting to bring the reforms Washington has passed nationwide—from pushing to expand background checks to all gun sales to better regulating ghost guns and calling on Congress to enact lifesaving red flag laws once and for all.
