Representative Frank Mrvan was first elected to serve Indiana’s 1st Congressional District in Washington DC in 2020, after serving 15 years as the North Township Trustee in Lake County. Throughout his career, he has always put the people of Northwest Indiana first and worked to help every member of his community get ahead.
Over his years of service, Representative Mrvan has made it his mission to ensure that all Americans are protected from senseless gun violence. In Congress, he has taken a commonsense, measured perspective on this issue and proudly voted to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and the Assault Weapons Ban. He also was a determined supporter of legislation to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, which plays a crucial role in keeping firearms out of the hands of individuals who have committed domestic abuse.
For too long, communities like Gary and Hammond have been rocked by the scourge of gun violence. In Representative Frank Mrvan, Northwest Indiana residents have a champion who will stop at nothing to save innocent lives and who will never let the corrupt influences of the gun lobby keep him from doing the important work of ending gun violence. Voters must help push him to victory in this very competitive battleground district this fall and send him back to Capitol Hill in November. With him leading the way, we can continue to work across the aisle to bring about real change for all Americans.
