Representative Frank Mrvan was first elected to serve Indiana’s First Congressional District in Washington DC in 2020, after serving 15 years as the North Township Trustee. Throughout his career, he has always put the people of Northwest Indiana first and worked to help every member of his community get ahead.
Throughout his years of service, Representative Mrvan has made it his mission to ensure that all Americans are protected from senseless gun violence. In Congress, Representative Mrvan has taken a commonsense, measured perspective on this issue and proudly voted to pass meaningful pieces of legislation like the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and the Assault Weapons Ban. He was also a determined supporter of legislation to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, which plays a crucial role in keeping firearms out of the hands of individuals who have committed domestic abuse. If reelected, he’ll continue fighting to move the country forward by pushing to ban assault weapons, bump stocks and large capacity magazines, raise the age to purchase a firearm to keep dangerous weapons out of the wrong hands, and incentivize gun owners to safely store their firearms.
For too long, communities in Northwest Indiana and our nation have been rocked by the scourge of gun violence. In Representative Frank Mrvan, Indianans have a champion who will stop at nothing to save innocent lives and who will never let the corrupt influences of the gun lobby keep him from doing the important work of ending gun violence. Voters must help push him to victory in this crucial, competitive battleground district, sending him back to Capitol Hill next November.
