Representative Jason Crow understands the deadly impacts of America’s gun violence epidemic all too well, as it has plagued his home state more than most. In addition to the daily community violence impacting our cities and towns, families across Colorado’s Sixth District have also endured a disproportionate number of major mass tragedies in recent decades—from Columbine in Littleton to the Aurora theater shooting that claimed 12 innocent lives.
As a hunter and former Army Ranger, Representative Crow knows weapons of war have no place in our communities, and he’s worked alongside local advocates and colleagues on both sides of the aisle in Congress to hold federally licensed gun retailers and the gun lobby accountable. Throughout his time in office, Representative Crow has fought to strengthen extreme risk laws, promote safe gun storage, and allocate needed funding for gun violence research. In his capacity as vice chair of the Gun Prevention Task Force, he has become one of the most ardent supporters of expanding background checks to all gun sales and introduced transformative legislative measures like the Colorado Loophole Act, which aims to close the loophole that allows out-of-state buyers to purchase long guns and shotguns without a background check from their home state. Representative Crow has also co-led efforts to ensure proper implementation of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act—the landmark legislation he helped pass in 2022 that became the first comprehensive gun safety reform package signed into law in nearly 30 years.
In such a time of partisan divide, we need leaders in Washington who can bridge the gap and achieve real results in the fight to save lives. We know Representative Jason Crow will always be that champion and find the courage to act to end gun violence and ensure a brighter future for our children and the communities they call home—and voters must send him back to Washington DC in 2026.
