Senator Jennifer Boysko is determined to make a difference in her community by passing meaningful gun safety legislation that will keep her constituents safe. In 2023, she was able to pass a commonsense child access prevention bill through the senate that would require adults to lock up their firearms in homes where minors or other individuals prohibited from possessing firearms reside. While House Republicans killed the bill without even a hearing, she’s determined to pass it into law in the upcoming term after Democrats retake the chamber in this fall’s elections. In Richmond, Senator Boysko also co-patroned many of the gun violence prevention bills that became law in 2020, including universal background checks, limits on handgun purchasing, Virginia’s extreme risk law, and legislation to allow localities to limit the ability to carry in public places. She understands how impactful these laws have been throughout the Commonwealth, and she’s done everything in her power to push back on Republican-led attempts to repeal these lifesaving measures. This fall, voters must reelect Senator Jennifer Boysko to another term—with her helping lead the fight for gun safety in the senate, we know a safe future is possible for every Virginia family.
