Candidate
Maggie Goodlander
US House
New Hampshire
— 2nd District Democrat
Incumbent2026
Growing up in New Hampshire instilled in Representative Maggie Goodlander the values of community, citizenship, and service, as well as the idea that our democracy isn’t something you watch happen from the sidelines—it’s something you participate in. Representative Goodlander has dedicated her life to public service and made solving our toughest problems a hallmark of her career. She has spent time as a foreign policy advisor in the United States Senate, an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve for over a decade, a law clerk on the United States Supreme Court, counsel in the first impeachment of former president Donald Trump, deputy assistant attorney general at the Department of Justice, a senior advisor at the White House where she led President Biden’s Unity Agenda, and most recently as the voice of New Hampshire’s Second District in Congress for the last two years. Now, she’s running for reelection in the state that gave her a start—and she’s determined to continue solving some of the most pressing issues facing Granite Staters in office, including our epidemic of gun violence.
For Representative Goodlander, ending senseless violence is a top priority and something she’s worked towards for years. At the White House, she helped craft and pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first major gun safety legislation signed into law in nearly 30 years. In Congress, Representative Goodlander has been cognizant of the need to respect the Second Amendment while still taking action to challenge the gun lobby and prevent senseless shootings and suicides—and she’s advocated for legislation to require universal background checks, close the “Charleston loophole,” keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people, get illegal guns off the streets, ban assault weapons, and increase accountability measures for the gun industry.
Races in New Hampshire are always close, and 2026 will be no different. The gun lobby and its enablers would love nothing more than to take back this must-win seat. With so much on the line this fall, Granite State voters must mobilize once again to send a committed gun safety champion like Representative Maggie Goodlander back to Washington DC. In her, they’ll always have a congresswoman who will put public safety first and build a better future for the next generation.
