Matt Little is a self-proclaimed local guy. In fact, he was born and raised in Lakeville, Minnesota, and has lived in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District for his whole life. Growing up, he watched his mother struggle with her insurance company to get the care she deserves, which pushed Little to work hard, go to law school, and eventually run for office to represent Minnesotans like his mom—first on the Lakeville City Council, then as mayor of Lakeville, and later in the Minnesota Senate, where he garnered a track record of taking action and accountability. Now he’s stepping up once again and answering the call to serve his community by running for Congress, where it’s clear we need elected leaders like Little, who are bold and brave enough to take on the Washington DC establishment—not join it.

At the state level, Little was one of the leading voices fighting for commonsense gun safety laws. In fact, he sponsored and co-sponsored multiple gun safety bills, including universal background checks to close private sale and internet loophole transfers by requiring background checks for all firearm sales; red flag laws to allow courts to temporarily remove firearms from individuals deemed a danger to themselves or others; and an assault weapons ban. Now more than ever, we need this kind of proven track record in Congress and we know Little will continue to always stand up and fight for the safety of Minnesotans.

With so much on the line this fall, it’s imperative that voters turn out like never before to elect champions in the fight to save lives and reestablish a gun safety majority in the US House. With leaders like Matt Little carrying the torch on this issue, a bright future free from senseless violence will finally be within reach for every Minnesota family.
