Representative Maxwell Frost is a gun violence survivor, civil rights activist, and Orlando resident with a long history of advocating for the causes that matter most to Florida families. He previously served as the national organizing director at March for Our Lives and was first inspired to join the fight to end gun violence following the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, when 20 students and six faculty members tragically lost their lives.
After meeting some of the families of those killed in Connecticut, Frost joined Newtown Action Alliance as a volunteer lobbyist and later worked with other advocacy organizations like the ACLU to fight for tangible change in Washington DC. In 2022, Representative Frost made history as the first member of Generation Z to be elected to Congress, where he has since served as a leading voice for young people and the causes that matter most to them, including gun violence prevention. The first-ever bill he introduced was to create the Office of Gun Violence Prevention at the White House—and in September 2023, Representative Frost stood alongside President Biden as he implemented that bill by executive action. Representative Frost has also led efforts to require the military to study the benefits of their own standards and practices for carrying a firearm, which require weeks of training and testing for service members, and how those standards could apply to firearm licensing nationwide.
Representative Frost’s record of accomplishments shows that the voices of survivors are needed in the highest halls of power more than ever, and Florida voters must reelect Representative Maxwell Frost next fall. With him leading the charge, a safer future is possible.
