In the legislature, she’s been a tireless advocate for protecting local police departments from budget cuts, pushing to add stalking as a prohibited gun possession offense, strengthening her state’s safe storage laws, and better regulating dangerous gun accessories and untraceable ghost guns. Leader Cannizzaro has also pushed to prevent armed intimidation at polling places and elsewhere, prohibit gun possession for hate crime offenders, and enact some of the most important lifesaving gun safety measures like extreme risk protection orders and background checks for gun sales.
