Throughout his career, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser has dedicated his life to justice, public service, and the law. Whether protecting election integrity, defending consumers, or combating gun violence, Attorney General Weiser has consistently put the people of Colorado first. As the son and grandson of Holocaust survivors, he understands the importance of standing up for vulnerable communities and ensuring that our government fulfills its most fundamental responsibility: keeping people safe.

Since taking office, Attorney General Weiser has worked tirelessly to combat the continuing threat of gun violence and strengthen Colorado’s gun safety laws. After successfully defending Colorado’s extreme risk protection order law in court, he continued championing additional commonsense measures, including requiring the safe storage of firearms, closing the dangerous loophole that allowed abusive dating partners to keep their guns, and banning untraceable ghost guns. Recognizing that preventing gun violence requires more than legislation alone, Attorney General Weiser has expanded education and outreach around Colorado’s red flag law, partnered with suicide prevention organizations, and worked alongside local law enforcement to promote responsible firearm storage and reduce gun theft.

Colorado has made meaningful progress in recent years to better protect its communities from gun violence, but there is still more work to do. At a time when extremists and the corporate gun lobby are working to roll back lifesaving laws across the country, Colorado needs a governor who will continue building on that progress. Throughout his career, Attorney General Phil Weiser has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing commonsense gun safety policies, supporting law enforcement, and protecting Colorado families. As governor, he will continue fighting for the practical solutions that save lives and help ensure every Coloradan can live in a safer community.

We are proud to endorse Phil Weiser for governor of Colorado.
