Rebecca Bennett has spent her life answering the call to serve. A former US Navy helicopter pilot, Air National Guard officer, healthcare leader, and mother of two, Rebecca has built her career around taking on difficult challenges and putting others before herself. After earning an ROTC scholarship and studying engineering at Cornell University, she graduated flight school at the top of her class and went on to serve for more than 15 years in uniform. As a helicopter pilot, experimental test pilot, and aircraft commander, Rebecca led missions in some of the most demanding environments imaginable. Following her military service, she continued her commitment to helping others by working to expand access to healthcare, improve patient outcomes, and reduce costs for families. Now, she is running for Congress to bring that same spirit of service and problem solving to Washington.

Rebecca’s experience in the military gave her firsthand knowledge of firearms and weapons systems, as well as the immense responsibility that comes with their use. Those experiences reinforced her belief that we can respect the rights of responsible gun owners while also taking commonsense steps to keep communities safe. As a mother, she shares the concerns of parents across New Jersey who simply want their children to come home safely from school each day. Rebecca believes Congress has waited far too long to address the epidemic of gun violence that continues to devastate communities across the country. In DC, she will fight for commonsense gun safety measures that keep firearms out of dangerous hands, strengthen support for law enforcement, expand access to mental health services, restore federal investments in gun violence research, and ensure communities have the tools they need to prevent violence before it occurs.

The race in New Jersey’s Seventh District will be one of the most closely watched contests in the country, and the stakes could not be higher. Voters deserve a representative who will put service above politics and focus on delivering results for families, not special interests. Rebecca Bennett has spent her career leading under pressure, solving problems, and serving her country with integrity. At a time when too many families worry about the safety of their communities, Rebecca is ready to fight for a future where every child can learn, grow, and thrive without fear of gun violence.
