Representative Rick Larsen first learned the value of working together and finding common ground as one of eight kids in a family that has called Northwest Washington home for more than 100 years. Since he was first elected to the US House in 2001, he’s continued to put these skills to use in advancing important legislative solutions to the many issues facing his constituents—including America’s epidemic of gun violence.

In Congress, Representative Larsen has been a determined champion for measures to keep his constituents safe and protect our communities from the everyday community violence that has altered the lives of so many innocent Americans. Time and time again, he’s voted to expand background checks to all gun sales, ban large-capacity magazines and bump stocks, incentivize the safe storage of firearms, and raise the legal age for buying semiautomatic rifles to 21—none of which impede the freedoms of responsible gun owners. In 2022, Representative Larsen also joined Republican and Democratic colleagues alike in passing the landmark Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first major piece of gun safety legislation to be signed into law in nearly 30 years. If reelected, Representative Larsen will never tire in the fight to bolster public safety and he’ll continue to push for substantial funding for gun violence research and lifesaving community violence intervention programs and so much more.

With so much on the line this fall, it’s imperative that voters mobilize like never before to flip the House and reinstall a working gun safety majority that’s committed to shaping a better future for the next generation—starting with reelecting Representative Rick Larsen.
