Throughout her career, Stefany Shaheen has been driven by a simple belief: Public service is about solving problems and improving people’s lives. As an entrepreneur, advocate, local elected leader, and mother, Shaheen has dedicated herself to expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and protecting New Hampshire families. After nearly losing her eldest daughter to type 1 diabetes, she became a nationally recognized advocate for groundbreaking medical research and better healthcare, helping advance lifesaving treatments while building a successful small business focused on improving health outcomes. Whether serving on the Portsmouth City Council, leading the Portsmouth Police Commission, or advocating for families across the Granite State, Shaheen has consistently brought a hands-on approach to tackling the challenges facing her community.

That same commitment has defined her work to prevent gun violence and strengthen public safety. Long before running for Congress, Shaheen stood alongside parents and survivors in the fight for commonsense gun safety, marching with her daughter in the first Million Mom March and working with law enforcement to expand community gun safety training throughout New Hampshire. As chair of the Portsmouth Police Commission, she partnered with local leaders to distribute trigger locks at New Hampshire State Police barracks and advocated for additional resources to help protect communities from violence. Shaheen understands that preventing gun violence requires practical solutions and strong partnerships, and she has pledged to continue fighting for lifesaving policies like universal background checks and red flag safety measures that help keep guns out of dangerous hands while supporting law enforcement and protecting responsible gun ownership.

At a time when Congress has too often failed to act in the face of preventable gun violence, New Hampshire needs a leader who will put public safety ahead of politics. Stefany Shaheen has spent decades turning advocacy into action, working alongside law enforcement, public health leaders, and local communities to help keep families safe.
