Having served on active duty in the US Air Force, Vice Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus Ted Lieu understands firsthand the power firearms wield. Time and again, he has spoken out against inaction in the wake of devastating tragedies, urging his colleagues to put the safety of children and families ahead of the gun lobby’s influence. In 2022, he helped turn that advocacy into action by supporting passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first major federal gun safety law in nearly 30 years.
