Arkansas prohibits any person from carrying a handgun in a vehicle only if they have a purpose to attempt to unlawfully employ the handgun against a person..1

Arkansas requires private property owners to allow individuals with concealed carry permits to keep their firearms in their locked vehicles in a publicly owned and maintained parking lot.2 Employers in Arkansas are required to allow employees, whether they possess a concealed carry permit or not, to store their firearms in their vehicles on the employer’s lot so long as the firearm is stored out of sight inside a locked private motor vehicle.3
