Katie Peters was communications director at Giffords. Before working at Giffords, Katie was a senior member of the communications team at the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, where she served as director of strategic planning and messaging. Prior to joining the campaign, Katie was appointed by the Obama Administration to serve as a Senior Advisor to the Office of Communications at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where she was brought on board to help manage the communications, outreach, and public education campaigns for HealthCare.gov during the second and third open enrollments. Prior to working at HHS, Katie was a communications and media relations specialist at the Center for American Progress.
