New GIFFORDS PAC ad: Don Bacon puts the gun lobby over Nebraska kids

WASHINGTON — Today, the national gun violence prevention organization GIFFORDS, founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, announced a $1 million investment in the race to represent Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District as part of its $15 million commitment to electing and supporting gun safety champions in 2024. The NE-02 campaign includes television and digital ads speaking directly to women voters in opposition to Rep. Don Bacon.

“Nebraska families simply want safe communities, but Don Bacon opposes commonsense solutions like closing loopholes that let dangerous people get their hands on guns. Bacon has shown he doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to Donald Trump or the corporate gun lobby and put Nebraskans’ safety first,” said GIFFORDS Executive Director Emma Brown. “Parents shouldn’t have to worry about whether their kids will make it home from school or a night out with friends. Tony Vargas will fight the gun lobby and keep schools and streets safe from crime and gun violence.”

“WONDER” :30

HEATHER:  I watch the news and I can’t help but wonder – is she safe?

So it’s terrifying that Congressman Bacon’s on the side of the corporate gun lobby.

No wonder he opposed criminal background checks for gun sales

Bacon even voted against legislation to keep guns away from domestic abusers.

Don Bacon looks out for the gun lobby. I wish he’d look out for us instead.  The truth is, Don Bacon is too extreme.
