Gabby Giffords Shares Her Story at the 2024 Democratic National Convention

On Thursday night, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords addressed America about the importance of ending gun violence.

It’s no surprise that gun violence is among the most pressing issues for voters across America—it impacts everyone, from kids to parents to neighbors and friends. So it makes sense that it played such a large role at this year’s Democratic National Convention.

On the final night of the convention, before Vice President Kamala Harris took the stage, our founder, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, spoke to America about why we can’t accept a country where gun violence is the norm.

She emphasized that fighting to better our nation requires grit. It requires courage, resolve, and tenacity—something that President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris have repeatedly demonstrated they have, especially in the fight to end gun violence.

Gabby championed Vice President Harris as the leader Americans need to save lives and defend our freedoms, and called for voters to join her in supporting the Harris-Walz ticket. Watch her speech:
