Gun Violence Prevention Groups Endorse Lucy McBath for US Congress

Washington, DC – Today, Brady PAC and Giffords PAC are endorsing Congresswoman Lucy McBath for reelection to Georgia’s 7th congressional district. Lucy McBath has been a tireless advocate for gun safety since tragically losing her son, Jordan, in a shooting in 2012. She turned her personal tragedy into a mission for action and change.

She understands that to end the cycle of trauma and heartache tearing apart our communities, we must stop the shootings. After her son’s murder, Congresswoman McBath promised Jordan that she would do everything in her power to keep her community safe and to prevent her family’s tragedy from happening to others. Lucy left her 30-year long career as a flight attendant for a new journey focused on reforming our nation’s gun laws to make our communities safer for every single American.

She began demanding that our elected officials do more to stop the senseless tragedies occurring in streets and schools across America. Congresswoman McBath worked for Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action, traveling throughout the country to rally activists, lawmakers, and most importantly, fellow moms, to pass comprehensive gun safety laws.

In Congress, Lucy McBath has made passing solutions to help our children and families a top priority. She is proud to have had six of her bills signed into law and worked on numerous pieces of legislation which have been passed through the House—including universal background checks for all gun sales.
