Giffords PAC Endorses Holly Seibold in Special Election
Washington DC — Today, Giffords PAC, the gun safety organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, announced its endorsement of Holly Seibold in the special election for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 35th District.
Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords:
“Holly Seibold has always been a staunch advocate in the fight to end gun violence. For the last 10 years, Holly has stood outside of the NRA headquarters on the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting to denounce the gun lobby and call on elected officials to do more to protect our families. I know that if elected, Holly will act with courage to block any dangerous attempts by the Republican majority to roll back necessary gun safety laws. I am proud to support Holly Seibold for the Virginia House of Delegates.”
Holly Seibold:
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Giffords PAC. Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is an inspiration and a true profile in courage. I am proud to stand up to the NRA to fight to keep our communities safe from gun violence.”
As a former public school educator and as the mother of school-aged children, Holly Seibold knows that more must be done to protect our communities from the scourge of gun violence. In the Virginia House of Delegates, she’ll fight tirelessly to build a safer future for the next generation.
If elected, Seibold will bring a record of bipartisan consensus-building prowess with her to office. As the founder of the nonprofit Bringing Resources To Aid Women’s Shelters, she has worked with legislators on both sides of the aisle in Richmond to support women and children in crisis—cutting through red tape to deliver more than 4 million menstrual supplies to those in need, helping incarcerated individuals live with dignity, ensuring students do not have barriers to their education and eliminating taxes on menstrual products across the state. Seibold will do the same when it comes to advancing commonsense gun safety legislation and will be a strong voice for passing legislation to ban assault weapons and protect domestic violence survivors from harm. As a delegate, she will also be committed to taking on special interests that threaten to stand in the way of progress on this life-or-death issue—even when they’re headquartered in her district, like the National Rifle Association.
