ICYMI: Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Headlines Political Swing Across Virginia Ahead of Fall Elections

Gun safety champions are running in vital Virginia legislative districts against extreme radicals

Washington DC — Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, founder of the gun safety organization GIFFORDS, joined several gun safety champions at three voter outreach events in Virginia last week. Gun violence is a top issue for voters as they head to the polls this fall, and it’s critical to hold the Virginia Senate and flip the Virginia House of Delegates to continue making progress in the state. If Republicans gain control of both chambers, Governor Glenn Youngkin will roll back commonsense gun safety measures and pass extreme laws that will make Virginia a more dangerous state.

“I was inspired by the determination and passion of every gun safety leader and advocate I met in Virginia. In Henrico, Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach, the urgency and need for gun safety was clear—and we know exactly which candidates will fight for communities across the Commonwealth. Delegates Schuyler VanValkenburg, Rodney Willett, and Alex Askew, and State Senators Monty Mason and Aaron Rouse, along with new candidates like Michael Feggans will always stand up to the gun lobby. Voters must bring the same energy I saw at every event last week to the polls through November 7.”

These candidates have all been endorsed by GIFFORDS PAC as gun safety champions who will continue to make progress on gun safety and stop a Republican trifecta in Virginia.
