GIFFORDS PAC Endorses Statewide Nominees Josh Stein and Jeff Jackson in North Carolina

Washington DC — Today, GIFFORDS PAC, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, endorsed two strong gun safety champions running for office statewide in North Carolina: incumbent Attorney General Josh Stein, who is his party’s nominee for governor, and Congressman Jeff Jackson, who is running for attorney general.

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords

“The choice facing North Carolina voters at the polls this fall is stark. The Republican Party has nominated some of the most radical candidates in the country in Mark Robinson and Dan Bishop, and they will bow to the gun lobby and take the Tar Heel State backwards. In November, voters must push back against extremism and elect Josh Stein as governor and Jeff Jackson as attorney general. They’ve both worked tirelessly to pass and enforce lifesaving gun safety laws to protect our children and families from harm. I’m proud to endorse each of them in their must-win elections.”

“North Carolinians should live free of the fear of gun violence, no matter whether they’re at their school or in their neighborhood, at work or at worship. I am honored to have GIFFORDS PAC’s support in this race and look forward to working together to build a safer, stronger North Carolina.”

Congressman Jeff Jackson: Democratic Nominee for Attorney General

“Keeping our kids and communities safe starts with addressing the epidemic of gun violence in our state and country—that’s why I’m proud to have GIFFORDS PAC’s support for North Carolina Attorney General. As an Afghanistan veteran and a former prosecutor, I know the importance of gun safety and keeping them out of the wrong hands. I’m ready to stand up for North Carolinians and am excited to campaign alongside GIFFORDS PAC.”
