Gladis Merino Joins GIFFORDS as New Political Director

Washington DCGIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, announced Gladis Merino as its new political director, who comes to gun safety after four years on US Senator Mark Kelly’s team. In a critical election year, GIFFORDS PAC is focused on winning elections with gun safety champions in federal and state races, including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Emma Brown, GIFFORDS Executive Director

“I’m thrilled to have Gladis’s experience and passion at GIFFORDS. Gabby and I have seen firsthand how Gladis can put together wide, successful coalitions to win tough states like Arizona. We’re excited for her to bring that ability to elect gun safety champions up and down the ballot. Gladis’s dedication to our mission and experience in organizing stakeholders across the political spectrum will be key to winning this election year and beyond.”
