Rep. Bresnahan advances his gun lobby donors’ agenda in Pennsylvania as NRA convenes in Texas
Bresnahan’s extreme agenda puts Pennsylvania families at risk while gun industry CEOs profit.
SCRANTON, Pa. — As the NRA Annual Meeting kicks off Houston this week, Rep. Rob Bresnahan has made it clear in his first term that he takes his marching orders from the gun lobby.
During his time in the state legislature and now in the House of Representatives, Bresnahan has proudly and repeatedly voted to advance the gun industry’s interests over the safety of his constituents — all while receiving $103,000 from the gun lobby to get elected to Congress in 2024.
“Pennsylvanians want leaders who put their kids’ safety first, not the profits of their donors in the gun industry,” said GIFFORDS Executive Director Emma Brown. “Rob Bresnahan has gone above and beyond to keep his gun lobby donors happy. In just his first term, he voted to cut FBI and law enforcement funding and block the feds from enforcing laws on ghost guns and background checks — all while leading the charge in the House on the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which would override Pennsylvania’s concealed carry standards to recognize permits from states with much weaker or no standards at all.”
“As the NRA gathers in Texas for its annual meeting, voters in Pennsylvania are fed up with partisans like Rob Bresnahan. Enough is enough — and it’s time to make a change at the ballot box this November,” Brown added.
