GIFFORDS demands Rep. Max Miller resign from Congress 

WASHINGTON —GIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, demanded Ohio Congressman Max Miller resign amid credible allegations from his ex-wife that he “scalded her chest and stomach by throwing hot water from a skillet at her body; held a gun to her head; pushed her against a wall and hit her head; and fractured their daughter’s collarbone and bruised her shoulder.” 

The gun industry’s trade association (NSSF PAC) has donated $2,000 to Miller’s campaign in the 2026 election cycle. 

“Congress is no place for violent abusers who attack their family and hold a gun to their wife’s head. Max Miller needs to resign now—and if he refuses, the House should expel him,” said GIFFORDS Executive Director Emma Brown. “If Republicans in Congress use their power to shield dangerous abusers from consequences it will give voters yet another reason to take away their majority this November.”
