GIFFORDS PAC announces $700K investment to elect Randy Villegas in CA-22

WASHINGTON — GIFFORDS PAC, the national gun violence prevention organization, founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, an initial $700,000 advertising investment in the race to represent California’s 22nd Congressional District, as part of its $10 million commitment to electing and supporting gun safety champions in 2026. The ad features a former homicide detective discussing the dangerous record of Congressman David Valadao, who has accepted more than $120,000 from the gun lobby and voted against laws to get illegal guns off the streets and keep Central Valley communities safe. The ad is running in English and Spanish.

“People in the Central Valley just want to feel safe, but David Valadao sides with his gun lobby donors to make it easier for dangerous people, like domestic abusers, to access guns. More illegal guns on the streets puts our communities and our police at risk,” said GIFFORDS PAC Executive Director Emma Brown. “Voters are sick and tired of politicians who do favors for donors in Washington even when it hurts folks back home. Central Valley families need a voice like Randy Villegas in Congress who will fight for their safety, not gun lobby profits.”
