GIFFORDS PAC announces nearly $1M investment to elect Elaine Luria in VA-02

WASHINGTON GIFFORDS PAC, the national gun violence prevention organization, founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, released its first ad in a $850,000 investment in the race to represent Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, as part of its $10 million commitment to electing and supporting gun safety champions in 2026. The campaign will focus on communicating to women and swing voters digitally and on Norfolk broadcast in opposition to Rep. Jen Kiggans’ track record supporting dangerous policies to reward her gun lobby donors.

“Jen Kiggans takes campaign cash from the gun lobby and votes to protect their bottom line instead of Virginia families. She votes to make it easier for dangerous people to access guns — that puts law enforcement and our communities at risk,” said GIFFORDS Executive Director Emma Brown. “Virginians deserve a member of Congress who puts their safety first, not their donors.”

TRANSCRIPT:

JOHN B.: I served over 40 years in law enforcement. I saw too many police officers lose their lives at the hands of a criminal with a gun.

Jen Kiggans was elected to keep us safe, but that’s not what I’m seeing. She claims to back the blue and then votes against tougher gun laws, giving criminals easier access to guns.

Kiggans takes thousands from the gun lobby and then just votes their way. But it’s our lives that are on the line.
