VICTORY: Gun safety champion Katy Padilla Stout elected to the U.S. House in TX-23

WASHINGTON —   GIFFORDS PAC, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, congratulated Katy Padilla Stout on her election to represent Texas 23rd Congressional District. Padilla Stout defeated radical gun YouTuber Brandon Herrera, whose election was a top priority of the gun lobby.

“Congratulations to Congresswoman-elect Katy Padilla Stout on her historic victory in Texas’ 23 District. As a mom of four, a public school teacher and child welfare attorney, Katy Padilla Stout has dedicated her career to fighting for a better, safer Texas and I am thrilled Texans are sending her to Washington to continue that fight,” said former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. “Uvalde will now be represented by a champion who is committed to stopping gun violence. Texans can trust the congresswoman-elect to stand up to extremists and work across the aisle to fight to save lives.”

GIFFORDS PAC was proud to endorse Katy Padilla Stout in this race and GIFFORDS Executive Director Emma Brown appeared on the campaign trail with the congresswoman-elect to highlight how gun safety is critical to advancing public safety in Texas.
