VICTORY: Gun safety champion Kristen McDonald Rivet reelected to U.S. House

WASHINGTON —   GIFFORDS PAC, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, congratulated Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet on her reelection to represent Michigan’s 8th Congressional District.

I am thrilled that voters across Michigan have made their voices heard and will be sending a gun safety champion back to Washington,” said former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. “As a state senator, Congresswoman Rivet led the successful effort to pass safe gun storage laws, universal background checks and red flag laws. In Congress, she has continued to be an outspoken advocate for commonsense gun safety measures who is unafraid to stand up to the gun lobby. Her dedication to saving lives in Michigan is clear. GIFFORDS PAC endorsed Rivet in September 2025. In recent months, former Congresswoman Giffords joined Rivet on the campaign trail to rally Michiganders and encourage voters to get out the vote.
