GIFFORDS PAC Endorses Top Gun Safety House Champions
Washington DC — Today, GIFFORDS PAC, the gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, announced its support for 15 of the most active gun safety champions in Congress running for reelection—marking the organization’s first slate of US House endorsements of the 2024 election cycle.
Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords:
“The incumbents we’re endorsing today have been at the forefront of the gun safety movement for years and consistently been among the most prominent advocates for commonsense, lifesaving measures in Congress. In office, they’ve pushed for progress in the wake of countless tragedies and been successful—making history by securing critical gun violence research funding, advancing universal background checks through the House, and passing the landmark Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. But I know they’re not done fighting yet.
“Families across the country are still suffering from daily gun violence, and too many have been shattered by senseless violence. Now more than ever, we need leaders in Washington who continue to stand up to the gun lobby and meet the urgency this moment requires. In 2024, we need to take back the US House and reinstall a gun safety majority that will truly fight for the people. I am confident that each of these gun safety champions will lead us to progress in that new majority and help achieve a safer future for the next generation.”
The slate of endorsed candidates includes:
- Salud Carbajal (CA-24)
- Jason Crow (CO-06)
- Madeleine Dean (PA-04)
- Rosa DeLauro (CT-03)
- Debbie Dingell (MI-06)
- Maxwell Frost (FL-10)
- Steven Horsford (NV-04)
- Robin Kelly (IL-02)
