GIFFORDS applauds Arizona Governor Hobbs for vetoing two dangerous gun bills

WASHINGTON GIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization led by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, thanked Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs for her decision to veto two bills that would have made Arizonans more vulnerable to gun violence. Governor Hobbs vetoed a bill that would have taken away universities’ right to implement concealed carry policies on their campuses, and another bill that would have legalized dangerous gun silencers in Arizona.

“Thank you, Governor Hobbs, for protecting Arizonans from gun crime and violence with these two crucial vetoes,” said Emma Brown, Executive Director at GIFFORDS. “College students deserve to be protected on campus, free from the danger that concealed firearms can create to both themselves and others. Additionally, gun silencers endanger all of us by hampering both law enforcement and emergency services. Arizona is safer today for these actions.”
