After a gunman stormed into San Francisco law firm Pettit & Martin in 1993, killing eight people and injuring six more, the Bay Area legal community banded together to fight for stronger gun laws. Thirty-one years later, GIFFORDS Law Center is a leader in the gun violence prevention nationwide, and California has some of the strongest gun laws in the country.
As we do every year, this June we’ll be gathering our supporters to honor those we lost at the 101 California Street shooting and the thousands of Americans who die from gun violence annually. We’ll also be recognizing law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer with the 2024 Odgers Pro Bono Partner Award for their outstanding contributions to gun violence prevention this year.
Join Gabby Giffords, our new executive director, Emma Brown, and other special guests as we recommit to our mission of building an America free of gun violence.
