North Dakota generally prohibits any person, including a concealed carry licensee, from possessing a firearm at a school or school sponsored event on school property.¹

In 2019, North Dakota authorized K-12 schools to designate an employee to act as an armed first responder.² Armed first responders may carry concealed firearms on school campuses but may not be responsible for directly supervising children while acting in that capacity.³ Armed first responders must take training designated by the state.⁴

State law is silent regarding the possession or carrying of firearms on college and university campuses.
