North Dakota generally prohibits any person, including a concealed carry licensee, from possessing a firearm at a school or school sponsored event on school property.1

In 2019, North Dakota authorized K-12 schools to designate an employee to act as an armed first responder.2 Armed first responders may carry concealed firearms on school campuses but may not be responsible for directly supervising children while acting in that capacity.3 Armed first responders must take training designated by the state.4

State law is silent regarding the possession or carrying of firearms on college and university campuses.
