Vermont prohibits the possession of a firearm in a courthouse without specific authorization from the court¹ and knowing possession of a firearm in a hospital.²

In addition, the state prohibits the carrying or possession of a firearm in a private preserve without written consent of the owner or person having the exclusive right to take fish or wild animals on such lands.³ Possession of a firearm in the Bomoseen state game refuge is also prohibited.⁴

Firearms are regulated in state buildings in Vermont. The Commissioner of Buildings and General Services may promulgate rules and regulations concerning firearms and access to, and conduct upon, the grounds of structures and buildings which fall within the Commissioner’s jurisdiction.⁵
