Terry McAuliffe is a lifelong entrepreneur and former governor of Virginia who spent his four years in office creating jobs, restoring voting rights, and battling the epidemic of gun violence in his home state. He has been a leader in progressive policies since his entrance to the political world in 1980. After working on President Jimmy Carter’s campaign at just 23 years old, McAuliffe went on to serve as co-chair of President Bill Clinton’s campaigns and chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Terry McAuliffe has a vision for a safer Virginia. Proudly the first southern governor to be elected with an “F” rating from the NRA, he proposed over a dozen commonsense gun safety bills throughout his tenure. The former governor’s plans to ban the sale of assault weapons and combat the growing number of ghost guns and high-capacity magazines on Virginia’s streets will help curb the impacts of gun violence.
