Alex Askew

State House Virginia — HD-95 Democrat
Delegate Alex Askew is a proven leader with a record of prioritizing community safety and achieving real results. Prior to serving in the House of Delegates, Delegate Askew worked for nearly seven election cycles on a variety of local, state, and national campaigns and projects. He also served as a chief of staff in the House of Delegates, where he garnered firsthand experience drafting and passing consequential legislation. In Richmond, Delegate Askew helped pass commonsense gun safety reforms that expanded background checks and removed guns from people who posed a risk to themselves or others. As the son of a public school teacher, he is acutely aware that there is so much more we need to do to keep students and educators safe in the classroom, and, if given the chance to serve his community again this fall, he’s intent on passing additional gun safety measures like safe storage and strengthening Virginia’s extreme risk law. In 2021, Delegate Askew lost his reelection bid by just over 100 votes. In 2023, it’s more important than ever that voters mobilize like never before and send this committed advocate back to Richmond.

We are proud to endorse Alex Askew for the Virginia House of Delegates.
