Chrissy Houlahan

US House Pennsylvania — 6th District Democrat
Prior to becoming the first woman to represent Pennsylvania’s Sixth Congressional District, Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan had a wide-ranging career that included serving in the Air Force, leading organizations in the public and private sectors, and teaching high school chemistry. In each role, Congresswoman Houlahan honed her ability to build coalitions and communicate messages to different audiences—skills that have served her well in Congress as a leader in the fight to end gun violence for the past six years.

In 2018, Representative Houlahan ran a campaign focused on gun safety and won, capitalizing on the determination of her voters to send someone to Washington DC to pass universal background checks, allocate funding for gun violence research, and keep guns away from individuals who have committed domestic abuse. In doing so, Congresswoman Houlahan flipped a red district blue, beat an NRA-backed opponent, and solidified a gun safety majority in the House for the first time in years. Once in office, Congresswoman Houlahan kept her word to her constituents and cosponsored groundbreaking legislation to incentivize the safe storage of firearms and get weapons of war off our streets. In 2022, she also joined with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to pass the first federal gun safety legislation signed into law in nearly 30 years: the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

No matter whether she’s served as a member of the House majority or minority, Congresswoman Houlahan has never shied away from the fight to save lives and build a safer future for the next generation. We need leaders like her to keep pushing for progress on this issue and finally create lasting change for their constituents. This fall, Pennsylvanians must mobilize like never before to get the job done by reelecting Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan.

We are proud to endorse Chrissy Houlahan for the US House of Representatives.
