Just like any Pennsylvanian, former Auditor General Eugene DePasquale doesn’t back down from a tough fight. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he knows the value of hard work and has developed a reputation as a transparent and principled leader who will stand up to anyone who would get in the way of achieving real results for the people he serves—especially when it comes to gun violence prevention.

Throughout his 20 year public service career, DePasquale has developed a strong track record of advocating for stronger gun laws and working to reduce crime. As Pennsylvania’s auditor general, he conducted a year-long investigation into firearm safety, with input from sporting groups, safety advocates, law enforcement, medical and mental health practitioners, firearm dealers, and domestic violence prevention advocates that led to a special report outlining 12 recommendations to curb deaths and injuries without impacting the constitutional rights of gun owners. Depaquale has also been a strong voice for measures to invest in suicide prevention programs and has championed meaningful reforms in the state legislature. As attorney general, he’ll continue to work with local and state authorities to get weapons of war off the streets and end cycles of retaliatory violence in Pennsylvanian urban communities.
