Shaped by the service of his parents, a teacher and nurse, Representative Herb Conaway knew from a young age he wanted to serve his community. As a US Air Force veteran, physician, clinical professor at a community hospital, and now as a state representative, he’s done just that. And if elected to Congress, he’ll continue to serve his constituents by working to end gun violence once and for all.

Throughout his time in office, Representative Conaway has proven himself as a true gun safety champion by working to pass comprehensive background check legislation, measures to keep firearms out of the hands of those who pose a risk to themselves or others, and funding for mental health services and programs that support gun violence survivors. In Washington DC, he’ll continue to work to build a safer future for New Jersey families by advocating for a national assault weapons ban, promoting the safe storage of firearms, and addressing the dangerous proliferation of untraceable ghost guns.
